I’m a longtime resident of the Yakima area. I was born In the year 1966 to Ed and Rosa Perez., I was born in Toppenish Washington. I was raised and went to elementary school in Buena, Washington. Finished my childhood education in Toppenish, Washington and junior high and high school graduated in 1984. I’m currently employed in the Tire industry at our local shop here in Union gap Washington.; Franks Tire has given me a 30 year career in their business, and I am currently serving as their general manager and overseeing all departments in the business. The Company is supporting me in this effort to become our state representative for district 14. I was married once and my wife passed away in 2016. I feel I have time to meet the people of our area to find out what their wants and needs are from our state government, and I hope that I can serve the people to their liking
  • The best part of serving as your state representative would be to keep you informed Of the day today, business being conducted in Olympia, that impacts district 14 and the surrounding district here in Eastern Washington.
  • I will do my best to work for you to make sure that our district Will prosper and that we continue to move forward with our old traditions, but in a modern version of what we have. We have lots of farming we have lots of farmers and we have lots of farmerworkers. We all need to work together to make this a better community for all the towns in this district and there’s a lot of them.
  • To remind people in our district, that being shy or being resentful or just not caring is not a good way of helping your community , we all must have A goal of what we are looking towards And by expressing your concerns, your wants and your needs is what I would be working for
Have you ever looked at your paystub lately? You see all these state taxes, state program fees, that are taken out of our hardener paychecks. All of these programs like the cares act and the paid family leave program hurt the low income and lower middle class and some of the middle-class folks that live in this district. Those programs are designed to make you rely on the government to take care of you if they would just leave, the people to have more take-home cash then they would be able to prosper and be at ease at home and be able to spend money in their local communities which will help the economy rather than just work to cover living expenses. My passion will be to lower These taxes or remove these programs that don’t benefit us
I look up to my mother and father, for their ability to be humble and kind to everyone they know and meet

I also look up to a man who came to the United States As an Irish immigrant who cared for the widowed and their children. Father Michael McGivney, who started a program called the Knights Of Columbus.

The reason I look up to these three is because you can feel the love for others when others struggle A kind gesture or a helping hand helps them through a tough time or moment in their lives and sometimes that’s all we can do for our fellow men and women and children of this world. So I would like to bring some of that kindness and love to the communities that are represented in this district
There’s an author by the name of Matthew Kelly. All of his books are really good. There’s this one word that he uses that I feel is kind of where we are in the political realm of this country right now “Dehumanizing”

. And I see it like this we have dehumanized this country so bad that the only thing we can do is start looking up. I think we’ve come to our bottom and it’s time to start digging our ourselves out of this situation we are in right now
I like that one phrase “got ourselves in a pickle” let’s get back to being the country that we love not the country that is walking on eggshells

Let us get back to values and integrity.
I feel like it can be stern in my presentation without being servile or scraping
Communication and transparency between the governed and the governing
If I can make an impact, I feel like my legacy would be that I would help bring us back to a life of humanity. That is respectable and good for everyone
1980 Mount Saint Helens blew its top and ash came raining down

I really didn’t know what to think.

I just turned 14 years old two days prior to its eruption.
My very first job gosh that’s been a long time ago. There was a furniture store right in the heart of Toppenish called Bates furniture I would work there after school for like a couple of hours. I think I did that for one semester. My first summer job that I can remember was working for Muffet and sons When they were doing underground sprinkler systems in the orchards, I wasn’t very good at it. I think I lasted one month in
Or maybe they just said get out of here,
The Sermon on the Mount by Emmet Fox
I like how he brings perspective to the Teachings of Jesus Christ and how one must apply these principles to their lives
It would be a tossup between Captain America or Megatron
Inner peace, finding a God of my understanding that will help me build happiness and trust to those around me.
I see it this way. Governor is there too make sure that the rights of all the people are heard and met,

He is not there to tell us what is best for the people, The Governor must understand what the people want and that’s by talking to your state legislature, because they are the ones who bring The peoples wants and needs to Olympia

This would be the ideal scenario to this question
Challenges are too stop getting into peoples private business and just concentrate on what government should be doing and that’s working on making sure we have adequate power, improve roadways, and schooling for the children of this state.
We all learned from each other, whether you’re a career politician or is your first day in Olympia we must work together
If the newcomer doesn’t see any good qualities coming from a politician. Then how will he be able to pass it on to the next generations coming behind them
Yes

I think all of our common Goals are to lead in a path and that’s to help the governed.

You can agree to disagree, but if you don’t listen to Other solutions to a scenario then how can you make a fair judgment?
Not at this time, I’m just learning the ropes as a candidate for state legislation.
I try not to future trip. I just need to do what’s in front of me at this time.
I’m too Serious minded that I don’t know a joke
I will need to look into this one question; to come up with an answer
Without knowing anything about this, and it would just be my opinion until I looked at the facts or the procedures for this I would say to oversee the process but until I know the guidelines in place right now I could not give you a definite answer to this question
I would draw up a bill that would retract the cares act and or the paid family leave program. The program had good intentions, but just won’t work out for the people of District 14
Unless these low income communities want to continue to pay for something very few will use as a whole. This is not a good fit for a District that is made up of majority farm labor, warehouse labor.
Financial transparency is the only thing that’s going to keep the government accountable.

I want to go back to that care act and Paid family leave program.

rather than having people get their own supplemental insurance or letting companies offer the private programs;
Now they’re forcing us to pay for a program that will never pay for itself because more and more people are signing up for that program and there’s not enough funds there to Accommodate all the applications so they move money around to make it look like it’s a great program so they can continue To make people rely on the government instead of just owning up to the fact that it didn’t work and they need to Suspend the program and let the people make their choices to care for there families
I like it just like it is. I don’t see anything wrong with it. But again, it’s not what I want. It’s what the communities want ask the people what they would like to see and then I will do as they ask
