Edith K. Payne was a judge on the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, Part B. She joined the division on August 1, 2002. Payne reached the age of mandatory retirement in 2012.[1]

Education

Payne graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1964 and from Rutgers Law School in 1976.[2]

Career

Payne was a partner in the law firm Stryker, Tams and Dill before her appointment to the superior court. As a lawyer, she specialized in insurance law, toxic tort law, and product liability. She was appointed to the Superior Court by Governor Whitman in January of 1996.[1][2]
