Edward J. Barton was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 1-Position 2 of the Washington House of Representatives.[1]

Barton earned his bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from the University of Notre Dame. He attended college on a ROTC scholarship. He went on to earn his J.D. from Northwestern California University and his M.B.A. from Syracuse University.[2]

From 1993 through 2002, he served in the United States Army as an engineer officer.[2]

Professionally, Barton has worked in financial services, executive management, consulting and legal roles.[3] At the time of his candidacy, Barton was serving as the president of Glass Doctor of Seattle. He is also a certified public accountant and chartered financial analyst.[2]

Elections for the Washington House of Representatives took place in 2014. A blanket primary election took place on August 5, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was May 17, 2014. Incumbent Luis Moscoso (D) and Edward Barton (R) defeated Dave Griffin (D) in the primary. Moscoso defeated Barton in the general election.[1][5][6]
