Campaign themes
2017
Bruski's campaign website included the following themes:
| “ |
Opioid Problem Let’s work with LSU and Tulane to create treatment centers that provide on going care for those who need it. Recovery is only possible through effective and ongoing medical and psychological care. Let’s work toward prioritizing treatment over incarceration to solve the overly crowded prison system of New Orleans. Education: Creating Trade Schools: New Orleans education is ranked 28th in the country which can be disconcerting for residents and families. Not every family can afford to send their child to a university. Edward is proposing we create a state funded trade school to provide tangible skills that lead to a livable wage for New Orleans residents. This will in turn provide higher wages for families raising children out of poverty and giving our community a sense dignity and pride. Housing: We need to make rental housing more affordable to our community. Too many families and young adults especially in the service industry are getting priced out of neighborhoods. Even families with good credit are finding it difficult to become homeowners in this city. Edward plans to expand the supply of affordable rental housing by increasing incentives to new affordable housing developments through out the city of New Orleans.[1][2] |
