Edward Burroughs III was a member of the Prince George's County Board of Education in Maryland, representing District 8. Burroughs assumed office in 2012. Burroughs left office on December 6, 2021.

Burroughs ran for re-election to the Prince George's County Board of Education to represent District 8 in Maryland. Burroughs won in the general election on November 3, 2020.

Burroughs resigned from office in order to run for County Council.[1]

Burroughs received his high school diploma from Crossland High School. He was a senior at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and the youngest elected official in the state at the time of his filing.[2]

The primary election was canceled. Incumbent Edward Burroughs III and Gary Lee Falls advanced from the primary for Prince George's County Board of Education District 8.

2016

Five of the 13 seats on the Prince George's County Board of Education were up for general election on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on April 26, 2016, for seats in Districts 5 and 8. In District 5, challengers Raaheela Ahmed and Cheryl Landis advanced to the general election by defeating incumbent Verjeana Jacobs and Robert Johnson. Incumbent Edward Burroughs III and challenger Stephanie Hinton advanced to the District 8 general election by defeating Carlton Carter. Ahmed and Burroughs won their respective races. David Murray defeated Raul Jurado for the open seat in District 1. Incumbent Patricia Eubanks defeated challenger Abel Olivo in District 4, while incumbent Alexander Wallace defeated challenger John Richardson in District 7.[3]
