Lifelong Hoosier who grew up in rural Shelby County, proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 2011 (retiring as a Technical Sergeant) and now working alongside fellow Hoosiers in the Vehicle Quality Department at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (Greensburg, Indiana). Over the years, I've watched Indiana politics and the direction of the state and now I want to be part of the leadership of this great state in its recovery from the pandemic and for generations to come. One of my core beliefs is that we pay enough taxes and we need to use our money wisely to provide the best possible services for everyone, while maintaining a high standard of living and economic opportunities that all Hoosiers can enjoy.
  • Protect our agricultural interests
  • Defend life and our traditional values
  • Create jobs by getting Indianapolis out of the way
I am passionate about education (vocational and traditional academic) and the way it shapes our workforce and our economy for the future. I believe Indiana has strong traditions and family values that are a cornerstone to leading the nation now and in the future. We need to secure not only our present, but our future, and the generations that follow us deserve nothing but the best.
I believe a core responsibility of the District 57 Representative is to address the issues and concerns important to its constituents. Representatives should be fiscally conservative, dedicated to defending life and our traditional values, ensuring that our agricultural and manufacturing base remain strong and vibrant for the future, and continue to create jobs by focusing on the amazing qualities of the towns, communities and people of the "Mighty 57".
After working some jobs in high school (Thomas' Market and RadioShack in Shelbyville), my first "real" job was as an Airman Basic in the United States Air Force in 1990. I did my basic training at Lackland Airforce Base in Texas and then moved on to assignments at Pope Air Force Base (NC), Shemya Island (AK) and Hurlbert Field (FL). During that time, I was proud to serve in the Base Services Unit, feeding more than 2,000 airmen every day. The Air Force taught me personal discipline and showed me the importance of team work and good leadership. This time also instilled in me a deep sense of patriotism for this great nation, and a desire to continue serving my fellow countrymen in any manner of public service I can. I retired from the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in 2011, and remain extremely proud of these years of service.
My experience in the United States Air Force taught me the value of teamwork. Teams function best when people find common ground and approach problems in a collaborative way. From my perspective, while I care about people as individuals, their backgrounds, their political party affiliation, and other opinions they may have should not be impediments to solving problems that affect us all. I respect all people and believe they have a right to their opinions; however, folks need to find that common ground and work together to make Indiana and the United States the best they can possibly be.
