Edward DeAguilera
Edward DeAguilera was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 12 of the Florida State Senate.
Biography
DeAguilera grew up in Orlando, Florida and graduated from Bishop Moore High School.[1] He went on to study political science and public relations at the University of Central Florida and earned his B.S. in political studies from Columbia College in 2010.[2]
Professionally, DeAguilera serves as the director of development and community partnerships for the Down Syndrom Association of Central Florida.[2] He has also served on several board of directors throughout Central Florida (and nationally) such as the Orlando Health Foundation, Health Central Foundation, United States Census Bureau Census Advisory Committee, Down Syndrome Affiliates in Action and TAM Airlines Recruitment Committee, among others.[1]

Elections for the Florida State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Geraldine F. Thompson defeated Gary Siplin in the Democratic primary, while Edward DeAguilera defeated Fritz Jackson Seide in the Republican primary. Thompson defeated DeAguilera in the general election.[5][6]
