Edward Finley, Jr.
Edward Finley, Jr. is a former member of the North Carolina Utilities Commission. He served in this position from 2007 to 2019, and he was chairman of the commission during that time.[1][2]
Biography
Finley was born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He studied art history as an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and earned a J.D. from his alma mater's School of Law.
Finley worked as private practice attorney in Raleigh, North Carolina for 33 years, first with the firm of Joyner & Howison and later with Hunton & Williams after the two firms merged. His primary practice area was public utility regulation.[1]

Finley was re-appointed to a second term on the North Carolina Utilities Commission by Gov. Beverly Perdue on July 1, 2011.[1]

Finley was first appointed to the North Carolina Utilities Commission on January 23, 2007, by then-Governor Mike Easley to a term that expired on June 30, 2011. Finley was appointed chairman on April 10, 2007, to a term that expired on June 30, 2009.[1]
