Edward Harold Merrigan Jr. was a judge of the Seventeenth Circuit of Florida. He was appointed to the position by Governor Rick Scott on March 21, 2014. His term expired in 2016. Before his appointment, he was a county judge in the North Satellite Divisions of the Broward County Court of Florida. He was appointed to that position by former Governor Charlie Crist in 2009. He also presides over the Broward Veterans Treatment Court, which was established in 2012.[1][2][3][4][5]

Merrigan received his bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College and his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law.[5]

Merrigan won re-election to the Broward County Court. He won the primary after receiving 70.3 percent of the vote, and was unopposed in the general.[2]
