Edward L. Stanton III was the United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. He resigned from the position in February 2017.[1]

President Barack Obama nominated Stanton to the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee on May 21, 2015.[2] On January 3, 2017, Stanton's nomination was returned to President Obama at the sine die adjournment of the 114th Congress.[3]

On May 21, 2015, President Barack Obama nominated Stanton to the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. On the nomination:

The American Bar Association rated Stanton Substantial Majority Qualified, Minority Well Qualified for the nomination.[5]

Stanton's Senate Judicial Hearing was held on September 30, 2015, and his nomination was reported to the full Senate on October 29, 2015, on a voice vote. On January 3, 2017, Stanton's nomination was returned to President Obama at the sine die adjournment of the 114th Congress.[3]
