|- I will fight to pass Medicaid Expansion so all North Carolinians and residents in district 46 have access to more affordable healthcare
- I will fight to increase the reach and access for high-speed broadband internet, so all students and residents can have access to it in these vital times.
- I will fight to increase teacher pay, so they don't have to work other jobs to try to make ends meet. Teachers shouldn't have to buy their own students supplies out of their own pocket because it's not in the budget.
I'm also passionate about teacher pay, because when teachers have to work additional jobs just to survive, we not only hurt teachers but we also hurt students. Teachers need to only have to worry about giving all of their students the best educational experience that they can.Medicaid Expansion would make healthcare attainable for 9,960 residents of Avery, Burke and Caldwell counties, and would bring with it 780 new jobs in total. In addition, Medicaid expansion would give 23,000 North Carolina Veterans healthcare insurance. Most people do not realize that not all veterans qualify for VA health benefits and are left to fend for themselves.
