Edwin Barnes was a 2015 Democratic candidate for District 18 of the Indianapolis, Indiana City Council. Edwin Joseph Barnes lost the general election on November 3, 2015.
Biography
Barnes is from Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated from Warren Central High School in 2014, and was attending Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis at the time of his candidacy.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[2] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[3]
In the Republican primary election for District 18, Susie Cordi ran unopposed. In the Democratic primary, Edwin Joseph Barnes also ran unopposed. Cordi defeated Barnes in the general election. Incumbent La Keisha Jackson (D) ran for election to the District 14 seat.[4]
