Edwin Vargas
Edwin Vargas (Democratic Party) was a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 6. He assumed office on January 9, 2013. He left office on January 3, 2023.
Vargas (Democratic Party, Working Families Party) ran for re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives to represent District 6. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Edwin Vargas was born in Brooklyn, New York. He earned a bachelor's degree in education and a master's in public administration from the University of Hartford. His career experience includes working as a teacher for Hartford public schools for 35 years. He later served as a commissioner of planning and zoning for the city of Hartford. Vargas has also served as an advisor to governments, businesses, and nonprofits, including to the Governor of Puerto Rico.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Edwin Vargas was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Michael Lupo was unopposed in the Republican primary. Vargas defeated Lupo in the general election.[4][5]
