Our Health: Accessible, quality healthcare that doesn't bankrupt families.

Our Children: Outstanding public education and pathways college, trade schools and good jobs.

Natural Environment: Clean water, air, marshes and beaches and district-wide flooding solutions that work.

Fair Districting: United community voices through fairly drawn districts that benefit the people not politicians.
My first job, when I was 12 years old (7th grade) was providing janitorial services for my middle school. My mom, a single mom and a nurse, was not able to pick me up at school until 5:30 when her workday ended. For years, I would do my homework while I waited to be picked up. The principal recognized that I was a responsible student and noticed that I always stayed late. She asked me if I would be interested in a job cleaning the school three afternoons a week. I jumped at the offer. When 3:30 pm rolled around I would stow my backpack in my locker and start my job as the school's cleaning service - vacuuming, mopping, emptying trash, scrubbing toilets and locking up the building to ensure it was safely secured until the teachers and students arrived the arrived the next day. I did this job for a year, and came to understand the responsibility and trust placed in me for the school's cleanliness and safety. Later, I was chosen to be the student representative on our School Life Committee where administrators, teachers and parents developed school policy. Around that same age, I also worked summers as a camp counselor for children ages 4-6 years old. I rode my bike 5 miles each way, to and from work. These experiences helped shape my career and community service choices. I've completed undergraduate degrees and a masters degree, served my community with a professional career in advocacy, and co-founded a small business. But, the trust placed in me by adults and the value of my hard work at my first job taught me lessons that I still carry with me.
