Campaign themes

2014

Robinson highlighted the following issues on her campaign website:

I have advocated for increased academic rigor, student physical and emotional health, expanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs, music and the arts, as well as increased co-ordination of Special Education programs and students with General Education peers. Providing the best education opportunities for all students is the number one goal of Chico Unified, and I support that goal.

Implementation of the Common Core State Standards moves into high gear in 2014/15. Students not only need to understand the who and what, but also the why of information if they are to flourish in this global society.
The Local Control Funding Formula and Local Control Accountability Plan has given parents, staff and community a greater voice in how resources can best be used to support our students, I worked with those groups to bring the LCAP to the full board for approval.
Work toward building a stronger partnership with our employee groups is ongoing. Many challenges await. I look forward to facing them all.[7]
