I am the granddaughter of Mexican immigrants. My Father was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army, and he was a Police Officer. I am married to a U.S. Navy veteran, and I am proud to be an American! My husband and I have 6 children, 2 of which have graduated and are now adults, with the other 4 not far behind.

I earned my Associate's Degree in Human Services from Olympic College, my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies (Minor in Criminal Justice) from Washington State University, and am pursuing my Master's Degree in Public Policy and History. I am also a survivor of child abuse, domestic violence, and have overcome many other obstacles including homelessness. I was also a single parent for many years. I know that overcoming life's most difficult trials, becoming a successful adult, and achieving the American Dream is possible, because I have. You just have to work hard for it.

I possess immense grit, determination and in ingenuity. I will fight for the success of my community as I have fought for myself and my family.
  • I will advocate and fight for your rights as I have my own. This includes parental rights, second amendment rights, and other individual rights.
  • I will honor and protect the state and federal constitutions.
  • I will fight to keep our money in our pockets, our businesses free to operate, and workers free to work.
I am particularly passionate about loosening up and deregulating businesses. I believe that our state has overstepped in forcing the closure of businesses and that the constitution was violated over the last few months.

I am also particularly passionate about the state staying out our lives as parents. The sex ed bill, universal home visiting bill, and integration of the Department of Early Learning with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (same agency that houses CPS, Child Protective Services), are examples of the state's attempt at parenting our children for us.

I want to get on the following committees:
Appropriations
Capital Budget
Civil Rights & Judiciary
Commerce & Gaming
Consumer Protection & Business
Education
Housing, Community Development & Veterans

Human Services & Early Learning
I look up to my Father. I never doubted his love for me, our family, our country or our community. He gave all he had at living his best life.
I believe that never forgetting that I am a voter, and one of the people in my community, and that I work for the people, not above them is most important.
I am hardworking, I stand up for what I believe in and I do not back down on my morals and platform.
Uphold the Constitution.

Remain active and engaged in the community even during non-election years and non-legislative months.

Always respect the people and their voices even when they differ from their own.
I want to leave a legacy of making change in the world, rather than complaining about what I do not like. I want to make a legacy of faith, love and compassion.
The explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger was the first historical event of my lifetime, that I remember although it was one of many-followed by the Tiananmen Square incident, and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
I was 7 years old on January 28th, 1986 when the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded.
My very first job was at Skateland in Bremerton. I worked there form the time I was 15-21, so 6 years.
The Shack, because it shows hope, love, resilience and faith and we need that so much.
I left a violent marriage and was homeless with my children for 2 weeks during a very cold November. It was awful and yet I kept going.
I was a single parent for many years and it was awful as well. One Christmas I had only enough money to pay my rent. I could not spare anything to even buy my children gifts at the Dollar Store. I almost gave up, but I loved my children too much to quit. Life went on and it got better.
The most important differences are that the House has two legislators and the Senate has 1, and the House has 2 year terms, with the Senate having 4.
No, I do not. I do not because I believe that our current situation with career politicians has hurt our state. I think that fresh eyes and ears and new ideas can bring new light and insight.
Overcoming the financial devastation of the Covid 19 pandemic, over regulation of people and businesses, and the control of one party that has led to a lack of bipartisanship.
Ideally, they are to work together as a team, with checks and balances for each other.
Absolutely! We need to build relationships with each other because we are part of the same team.
I favor the process of redistricting according to the results of the U.S. Census.
Yes.

Appropriations
Capital Budget
Civil Rights & Judicial
Commerce & Gaming
Consumer Protection & Business
Finance
Housing, Community Development & Veterans

Human Services & Early Learning
Yes. I heard the story of how a woman in our district who is the survivor of domestic violence, just as I am. She has gone on to become quite active in the gun community.
