Elaine Slobod
Elaine Slobod is a justice for the Orange County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. She was elected to this court for a term that began in 2008 and ends in 2021.[1][2]
Education
Slobod received her B.A. degree from George Washington University in 1964 and her L.L.B. degree from the New York University School of Law in 1966.[1]
Career
Slobod's judicial career began in 1979 when she was appointed Acting Judge of the Middletown City Court. The following year, she was elected City Court Judge. In 1984, she joined the Orange County Family Court and became an Acting Supreme Court Justice. She left the Family and Supreme Courts in 1995 to serve on the Orange County Surrogate's Court. She was re-elected to that court in 2005 and joined the Supreme Court in 2008.[1]
