My name is Elan Vyskocil, I embrace all beliefs from the left and right end of the spectrum. I am someone who believes that more funding for police to keep our streets safe is a must. The choice of abortion is up to the women, not the government. Focus on reducing public filth. Focus on the climate and cleanliness of the ocean. Fund research to help coral reefs especially in Key West.

• Investing in law enforcement, keeping our communities safe for all.
• Address the strong divide of political parties.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I want to help the divide by embracing all opinions and try to make bipartisan progress smooth and transparent.

My name is Elan Vyskocil. I’m running to bring back civility to our country. I embrace all beliefs from the left and right end of the spectrum. I am someone who beliefs that more funding for police to keep our streets safe is a must. The choice of abortion is up to the women, not the government. Focus on reducing public filth. Focus on the climate and cleanliness of the ocean. Fund research to help coral reefs especially in Key West.

• Fund the police.
• Work to end the deep divide in this country.
• Protect the U.S. constitution from domestic and foreign threats.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Abortion is up to the women the not a government. Border crossing that is safe and effective for U.S. citizens and immigrants. Fixing the issue of public filth. Funding the police. Ocean health and environmental protection.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My father, he was there when I needed him. Great father figure.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

People who want peace and love will understand my stance.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Ability to accept loss, and the ability to make c

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Not being part of such an extreme political party. Just trying to make life peaceful for everyone. Having smart ideas that could potentially be law.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Represent the peoples voices of the district, protect the constitution.

What legacy would you like to leave?

Bring people together, ending division. Brining in more love in positivity.

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The defeat of the Islamic state. I was 14 at the time.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

My very first job was being a cashier at a summer camp.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Depression and anxiety

What qualities does the U.S. House of Representatives possess that makes it unique as an institution?

Most powerful governmental body in the world. With great power comes great responsibility.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics?

I think if you can make a great honest case on why people should vote for you. Experience is not needed, some people don’t have the opportunity to gain experience in politics doesn’t mean they are unfit for office.

What do you perceive to be the United States’ greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Division

Do you believe that two years is the right term length for representatives?

Sure seems to be working just fine.

What are your thoughts on term limits?

I support fully on term limits.

Is there a particular representative, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?

Senator Cory Booker and Senator Susan Collins both set great examples for both senate and House.

Both sitting representatives and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?

How Cubans Americans find freedom through traveling to Key West by brave way such as using homemade boats.

Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking?

It is necessary, this “my way or the highway” philosophy is immature.

The Constitution says that all bills for raising revenue must originate in the House. What role would this power play in your priorities if elected?

None, just follow the constitution word by word. Uphold my duties.

How should the U.S. House use its investigative powers?

Is the constitution is threatened in anyway, then yes.
