I have my Bachelor's Degree from New Mexico State University in HRTM, with a minor in Marketing and Business. I work in Cedar Park as a manager for a growing Forensic Engineering firm. My husband and I have lived in LISD for the last 15 years, with one of my sons graduating from Leander HS, and my other son entering high school this year. I currently serve as Board Secretary for LISD, and serve on our Safety and Security Committee, and Long Range Planning Committee.
  • I strongly believe in Academic Excellence for every student. Offering programs that engage each and every student helps students to own their learning and be fully invested in their education. Every student has different learning styles and goals, I want us to use highly individualized approach to cater to each specific student's strengths and needs.
  • Balanced approach is critical to our budget and debt structures. We have a duty to be fiscally responsible to taxpayers while still being a destination district with programs and choice for students. I will continue working on our long range facilities plan to utilize existing campuses effectively, and building new campuses responsibly.
  • Strong community collaboration is vital for the success of LISD. I have worked to build partnerships with parents, staff and others that live and work in LISD. I serve on our Safety and Security committee, to build student experience and safety, which includes working closely with law enforcement and city government to keep our schools safe. In addition, we are proactive in the epidemic facing young people today – fentanyl being one of the key focuses of our work
There are many ways to improve our public schools through policy. One way is through maintaining local control, which allows the district community to have a voice in setting school goals and determining how resources should be spent. Local control will allow parents, students, community leaders and teachers to decide what’s best for students’ learning experiences in the schools by letting them know what is happening at each school level.
