Elias Barela is a former Democratic member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 8 from 2007 to 2010. Barela was defeated by challenger Julian Luna in the Democratic primary on June 1, 2010.[1]

Barela was defeated by challenger Julian Luna in the Democratic primary on June 1, 2010. Barela received 1,233 votes while Luna received 1,398 votes.[2]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Barela won re-election to the 8th District Seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives, besting Paul Gabaldon (R).[3] Barela raised $114,507 for his campaign, while Gabaldon did not raise any money.[4]
