Lower health insurance costs though oversight of our corporate insurance monopolies, increase state funding for schools to above pre recession levels, bring fast, quality, affordable internet to all area of Virginia
Healthcare. After 30 years of experience treating patients and dealing with insurance companies, I have the insight and knowledge to represent voters against overcharging and the unfair practices of health insurance companies.
1. My father-During his life his leadership to our public schools allowed access for students and improvements to minority and poor children. His focus and passion to the right thing over the expedient/easy thing has been a guiding principle in my life.

Always put the needs of communities you represent over the profits of your donors and lobbyists. uphold and strengthen civil rights for ALL people, be available and responsive to constituents, engage with and respect those you may disagree with in order to solve the problems of our communities.
I would like to reform Virginia campaign and ethics laws to remove the influence money has in Virginia Politics, insurance fair redistricting and voting access to make Virginia a true democracy, leave the basic needs of my community such as healthcare, schools, wages, and infrastructure better off upon my departure from office.
The assassination of President Kennedy. I was just under 3 years old. That type of violence and anger has unfortunately slowly spread and become epidemic throughout my lifetime.
Retail clerk at Opryland, Nashville, TN. I was 15 and it lasted for a few months one fall.

No. General intelligence and knowledge but "politics" can mean the manipulation of money for other's interests and not that of our voters.
Eldercare and its exploding need with regards to our state budget. Currently 72% of our Medicaid dollars goes to long term care of the elderly and disabled. The coming "Silver Tsunami" will push us past our budget limits without knowledgeable and creative community solutions.

Absolutely! Building coalitions with legislator's who's districts face similar problems can only strengthen the possibility of finding solutions. Working together on the issue without regard to party platform or affiliation is the only way to create a lasting solution to problems.
Non partisan, non political, independent commission.
A woman who's son needs brain surgery but his health insurance monopoly will not pay for treatment with the better brain surgeons at UVA. They only will pay for treatment at a hospital the company owns who's surgeons are not as experienced or successful.
