I am the daughter of a middle school guidance counselor and a college History professor. The tradition of public service is strong in my family. Both of my parents and my maternal grandparents volunteered to work the polls every election since I was a child. My grandfather is a Navy vet and 4 of my seven great aunts were public school teachers. I was exposed early and often to politics and believe the vilification of public servants is hurting our nation.

I moved to Las Vegas after college and graduated from UNLV in 2007. I taught middle school before joining the Conservation team at the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

My husband is an Air Force veteran and we have raised three children in this district.
  • I believe that science and evidence matter. Legislation should be evidence-based and crafted with the input of all relevant stakeholders.
  • My life experience has uniquely prepared me for this position. I am a former teacher, conservation professional, lactation educator, and gun violence prevention advocate.
  • I have volunteered in our community for the past fifteen years and hope to continue serving as your voice in Senate District 18.
I am passionate about preparing Nevada for a sustainable future, improving our public schools, expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare, and keeping our communities safe.
In addition to the enormous economic challenges brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic, Nevada will be one of the states most affected by climate change and drought. As an environmental scientist, I have years of experience working on climate change mitigation strategies, specifically water conservation methods. I plan to use this expertise in the legislature as we bring forward equitable solutions for the citizens of our state for renewable energy, transportation, regional planning, and water conservation. All of these efforts will provide much-needed jobs and will help to diversity our economy.
