What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

Fighting for Working Families. The recent attacks on working people and Unions in Kentucky has been unprecedented. Taxes have been raised on the poor and middle class and big tax cuts given to corporations and the rich while lowering working people wages.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow and why?

Pope Francis is who I look up too. He advocates for the poor and disadvantaged.[3]
Is there a book, essay, film, or something else that best describes your political philosophy?
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Reflects the struggles of common people standing up to corporations and the ultra rich.[3]
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
An elected official must serve the people of they represent and act in their constituent's benefit, not that of special interests.[3]
What qualities do you possess that would make you a successful officeholder?
I have great determination to undo the damage that has been done to Kentucky's working families, Public Education and our Public Pension System. I have no other interest that takes precedence over these goals.[3]
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
Service to the people in their district is the primary function of an elected official regardless of political party. Working with other Legislators to develop legislation that is for the common good.[3]
What legacy would you like to leave?
I would like to be known as someone who worked with others and lead the way in helping raise living standards for all Kentuckians through a good Educational System, better Healthcare for all, and Higher Wages.[3]
What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at that time?
The assassination of John F. Kennedy was the first historical event I recall. I was 16 when this happened.[3]
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
I worked to pay my tuition in high school. I worked each summer for all four years cleaning dorm rooms.[3]
What is your favorite holiday? Why?
News Years is my favorite holiday because my now husband asked me to marry him.[3]
What is your favorite book? Why?
Anything written by John Grisham I love his views on different fields of the law and how his characters worked with their clients.[3]
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be?
Wonder Woman[3]
What is your favorite thing in your home or apartment? Why?
My favorite thing in my house are the painting my husband painted.[3]
What was the last song that got stuck in your head?
Everyday People[3]
What is something that has been a struggle in your life?
I am somewhat Obsessive compulsive.[3]
(For non-Nebraska candidates) What do you consider the most important differences between the legislative chambers in your state?
The House of Representatives work with the Governor to create laws and establish a state budget. The Senate allocates tax revenues, and conducts redistricting among other duties.[3]
Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics?
It can be beneficial for someone to be familiar with the legislative process but not necessary. Sometime fresh eyes can also be very beneficial too. You have to start someplace[3]
What do you perceive to be your state’s greatest challenges over the next decade?
Funding for Public Education, meeting State Pension obligations and raising funding for basic services .[3]
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?
Working together is most important. Currently the Republicans have control and have locked Democrats out of the process. We MUST work together.[3]
Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.
Yes it is essential to work together with other Legislators. Currently that is not the case and it is dividing our State. This can NOT continue.[3]
What process do you favor for redistricting?
I favor the Independent commission method of redistricting[3]
If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?
I would like to serve on Economic Development and Workforce Investment Health and Human Services or Local Government committees.[3]
Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?
Tommy Thompson is who I view as a role model as State Representative.[3]
Are you interested in running for a different political office in the future?
No I have no other interest other than State Representative[3]
Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful?
I hear all the time how much people in District 14, how much they miss Tommy Thompson. The tell me he was there for them all the time. They don't feel they have that Representation right now.[3]
