Elizabeth Buss earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska in 2007 and a J.D. from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 2011.[1]

Elizabeth attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law before joining the Harris County District Attorney's Office where she has worked for ten years. She has served as a Misdemeanor Chief and practiced in the Felony, Juvenile and Intake Divisions. Elizabeth has a unique perspective on justice due to her time working in the Responsive Interventions for Change docket aimed at getting non-violent drug offenders needed treatment to reestablish themselves in society. Elizabeth and her husband, Bryan, live in Houston with their rescue dog, Hans. They are members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where they enjoy attending Mass each week.

I believe the criminal courts should be going to trial on a regular basis. I am ready to work hard to reduce the case backlog.
