Elizabeth Byer Leonard is the judge of Texas District 238.[1] She won the seat in a special election held after Judge John G. Hyde passed away in January 2012.[2] She was re-elected without opposition in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[3]

Leonard received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and her J.D. from South Texas College of Law.[5]
Career
Prior to taking the bench in 2012, Leonard was an attorney at JTD Resources. She also previously worked as a prosecutor for Midland and Ector counties.[6]
