Elizabeth Chavez (b. November 28, 1946) was a Democratic member of the Idaho House of Representatives. She represented District 7A from 2006-2010. Chavez was last re-elected in November of 2008 with her term expiring in 2010.

Chavez graduated with her Bachelor's degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 1970.

Chavez is a retired teacher in Idaho's Public Schools.

Before becoming a Representative, Chavez was Chairwoman of the Nez Perce County Democratic Party from 2003 to 2006 and was a Precinct Committeewoman for the Nez Perce County Democratic Party from 1999 to 2006. Chavez also served as the Campaign Manager for former Idaho Representative Mike Mitchell from 2000 to 2004.

Chavez lost her bid for re-election to District Seat 7A in 2010 to Republican Jeff Nesset. She ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 25th. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[1]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Liz Chavez won re-election to the Idaho House of Representatives District 7A receiving 13,608 votes. She ran unopposed.[2]
