Elizabeth Gobeil is a judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals. She assumed office in 2018. Her current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Gobeil ran for re-election for judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals. She won in the general election on June 9, 2020.

Gobeil was appointed to the court in June 2018 by Governor Nathan Deal (R). She succeeded Judge Elizabeth Branch.[1]

Education

Gobeil received a bachelor's degree from Emory University in 1991 and a J.D. from the University of Georgia Law School in 1995. During her legal studies, Gobeil served as notes editor for The Journal of Intellectual Property Law.[2]

Career

Prior to her appointment on the Georgia Court of Appeals, Gobeil worked at the state Board of Workers' Compensation. Her professional experience includes serving as senior counsel at the U.S. corporate headquarters for Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and UCB, Inc.; practicing law at Thompson Hine, LLP, where she eventually became partner; and working as a legislative advisor to U.S. Senator Paul Coverdell (R-Ga.).[2]
