Elizabeth Laporte
Elizabeth D. Laporte was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She was appointed to this position on April 4, 1998.[1] Laporte retired in October 2019.[2]
Education
Judge Laporte received her B.A. degree from Princeton University in 1975, her M.A. degree from St. Anne's College in 1977, and her J.D. from Yale Law School in 1982.[1]
Career
Judge Laporte began her career in 1983 as an associate of the law firm Turner and Brorby, where she later became a partner. In 1991, she became an administrative law judge for the California Department of Insurance. From 1996 until her federal appointment in 1998, she was the chief of special litigation at the San Francisco City Attorney's Office.[1]
