Elizabeth Marroquin
Elizabeth Marroquin was a member of the Corona-Norco Unified Board of Education in California, representing Trustee Area 2. She assumed office in 2018. She left office on December 9, 2022.
Marroquin ran for re-election to the Corona-Norco Unified Board of Education to represent Trustee Area 2 in California. She lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Marroquin earned a bachelor’s degree in biological science from California State University Fullerton and a master’s degree in education administration from Mount Saint Mary’s College, Los Angeles. Her professional experience includes teaching high school and middle school science and serving as the director of the Inland Empire Regional Science Olympiad (IERSO), a STEM competition for students in grades four through 12 in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Marroquin has been politically involved with the Riverside Teachers Association and has served as a liaison for the California Science Teachers Association.
Marroquin was awarded the Riverside Unified School District Middle School Teacher of the Year, the California State Jaycees Young Educator Award, the Certificate of Congressional Recognition for Boeing Science Camp, the Sigma XI Scientific Research Award, the Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Service Award, and the WHO Awards from CTA Region 3 and Region 4 Service Centers.[1]
