Elizabeth W. Pine was a judge on the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Fourth Department. Governor Cuomo designated her to this division in 1985. She retired from the Appellate Division effective December 31, 2010.[1]

Education

Judge Pine graduated from Smith College and went on to earn an LL.B. degree from Harvard Law School in 1960.[1]

Career

Judge Pine worked in Washington, D.C. and New York City until 1963, when she began practicing law in Rochester. Ten years later, she was elected to the Monroe County Family Court. She judged on this court from 1974 to 1976 and spent her last year as the Administrative Judge. She was elected to the New York Supreme Court 7th Judicial District in 1976 (effective January 1977) and was re-elected in 1990.[1]
