Ella Bell
Ella Bell was a Democratic member of the Alabama State Board of Education, representing District 5 from 2001 to 2019. Bell passed away on November 3, 2019.[1]
Biography
A resident of Montgomery, Alabama, Bell graduated from Tuskegee University in 1969 and Alabama State University in 1974. Bell completed the necessary coursework for a doctorate in educational leadership between 1974 and 1977 at the University of Alabama, but did not write a dissertation. Bell worked at the Dropout Prevention Center at Alabama State University.[2]

Political career
Alabama State Board of Education (2001-2019)
Bell was first elected to the Alabama State Board of Education in November 2000 and was sworn in the following January. She was reelected four times.
