2016
One of the seven seats on the School District of Palm Beach County school board was up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. The primary race to fill the open District 1 seat featured candidates Ellen Baker, John Boggess, Louise Daniels, Henry Giacinto, Barbara McQuinn, and Thomas Sutterfield on August 30, 2016. Sutterfield and McQuinn advanced to the general election since neither candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote. McQuinn won the general election. The seats of District 2 incumbent Charles Shaw and District 5 incumbent Frank Barbieri Jr. were originally set to be on the primary ballot, but both were unopposed in their bids for re-election. The election for their seats was canceled, and they were automatically re-elected to additional terms.[1][2][3]
