Ellen Levy-Siwak
Ellen Levy-Siwak is a judge of the Missouri 21st Judicial Circuit Court Division 11. Her current term ends on December 31, 2028.
Levy-Siwak ran for re-election for judge of the Missouri 21st Judicial Circuit Court Division 11. She won in the general election on November 8, 2016.
Education
Levy-Siwak received her undergraduate degree in 1985 and her law degree in 1988, both from Washington University in St. Louis.[1]
Career
Before her appointment as a circuit court judge for the 21st Circuit Court in 2008, Levy-Siwak was an associate circuit judge from 2002 to 2008 and a family court commissioner from 1999 to 2002.[1]

Elections
2016
Missouri held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on August 2, 2016. The filing deadline for those wishing to run in the primary was March 29, 2016. Judges running in a retention election on November 8 had to file by August 23.[2] Ellen Levy-Siwak was retained in the Missouri 21st Circuit, Division 11 election with 59.20 percent of the vote. [3]

Levy-Siwak stood for retention and was retained on November 2, 2010, receiving 62 percent of the vote.[4]
Judicial selection method
The judges of the Missouri Circuit Courts in Clay, Greene, Jackson, Platte, and St. Louis counties and the city of St. Louis are appointed by the governor with the help of a judicial selection commission.[5]
The chief judge of each court is elected by the circuit and associate judges from among the sitting circuit judges.[6]
Qualifications
To serve on this court, a judge must be:
- a U.S. citizen for at least 10 years;
- a qualified state voter for at least three years;
- a resident of the circuit for at least one year;
- licensed to practice law in the state; and
- at least 30 years old.[6]
