Ellen has spent her life working to improve the lives of people in her community. She is an experienced non-profit leader with a background in working to end homelessness, food insecurity and health disparities. For the past five years, Ellen has fought for great public schools for every student by ensuring that our schools have professional educators and classroom resources. Ellen Pogemiller and her husband, Mark, decided to make their home in the heart of Oklahoma City after he was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base. Their two sons attend Oklahoma City Public Schools, right here in House District 88 , where Ellen is a dedicated volunteer.
  • As the product of public schools and the mom of two boys attending OKCPS Public Schools, Ellen knows the importance of our public schools to the future of our state. She knows that we need to fund our schools to the regional average, increase teacher pay, and ensure we are recruiting the best teachers to Oklahoma. Ellen also will work to ensure that every student is safe at school and feels valued.
  • Medical decisions should be kept between a woman and their doctor. Ellen will fight for access to all reproductive health care options and will work to roll back our strict abortion laws.
  • Oklahoma continues to push policy that targets the most vulnerable in our state. Ellen will defend the rights of LGBTQ+ and will push to reverse the criminalization of our immigrant neighbors.
Public education, access to healthcare and reproductive healthcare, voting and ballot access, affordable housing and protect LGBTQ+ Oklahomans
Elected officials should focus on organizing, building consensus, and developing long term goals to address challenges in our state. The most important part of being elected is listening, learning, and creating change based on the conversations that you have with your district. Legislators must also stand firmly against legislation that targets or disenfranchises our immigrant or LGBTQ+ community.
I was a senior in high school when the shooting occurred at Columbine High School. I thought it would be a once in a lifetime event and unfortunately school shootings have only grown year to to year. My children now have to practice active shooting drills in their school. We have not adequately addressed gun control in our state.
My first bill would be to expand free school meal access to all students in the state.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Oklahoma

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
