Being born and raised in Toppenish, I understand first the needs our our local community. As current Mayor of Toppenish, I've witnessed firsthand the failures and excuses of my opponent. I’m stepping up to bring honesty, transparency, accountability and effective management. With 7 years on the city council, an MBA, and over 20 years as a public health provider, I have the skills to lead. As a Latina community leader for a district made up of 70% Latinos, I reflect my community. I will advocate for all residents, regardless of party affiliation, ensuring Yakima County thrives. I’m committed to fighting for the people and delivering results.
  • Now is the time for change! As a Latina candidate that reflects district 3, I am a strong leader, honest and transparent that wants to work for the voters of Yakima County. I have the education, history, and qualifications necessary to be effective. My opponent is a weak leader that avoids direct confrontation and is controlled by the "King Maker." Because I am a threat to the establishment, I have been personally attacked and betrayed, however I will not stay silent nor give up. District 3 deserves a strong, and honest leader. Someone that will represent our interest, not the interest of the elites that do not reflect the community of district 3. Vote for honest leadership, vote for change!
  • I want to work for you! Since a young age, I have been working hard every day. From picking asparagus, apples and cherries in the Yakima Valley, to becoming a healthcare professional and a local political leader. From day one, I have served and will continue to serve the local community. 50-60 hour work weeks is nothing new to me, and as Commissioner for Dist.3, I will continue to invest the same time and dedication to my constituents.
  • Enough is Enough. Losing over $5 million dollars is enough to get anyone fired. That's what has happened under the current commissioner's lead, which is why it is time to send him packing! The lost funds that could have been used to address the challenges concerning homelessness, crime, lack of affordable housing, and our economic struggles. His poor performance should not be rewarded with 4 more years on the job. We must demand accountability, fiscal responsibility and competent performance.
Deregulation & Water rights; Law and Order; Economic Prosperity; Homelessness; Transparency & Accountability. I support local farmers and the small business community. Affordable house is desperately needed for the elderly and underserved. Farmworkers need representation and as a former farm worker, I will be their person on the county level.
My mom. She is an overcomer. I admire her dedication, tenacity, faith, and hard work.
Books: Live Not by Lies By Rod Breher, From Character To Color by Ernest J. Zarra III, Letter to the American Church by Eric Metaxas, The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Movie: The Long Game.
Ethical leadership, honesty and transparency. As voters we must hold politicians accountable for their poor performance, lies, and not doing what they were elected to do.
My history, education, and experience. I was born and raised in the lower valley. I know first hand the needs of the local community. I have an MBA and am a dental health professional that has worked for a public health organization for over 15 yrs. As Mayor, I have worked with local and state government officials for the past 7 years.
Elected officials must ensure they are representing their continents and protecting the interests of the people that elected them.
I would like to be known as a servant leader, and overcomer.
Farmworker since a young age, Currently, a dental hygienist since 2002, City Council since 2018, Mayor since 2022.
Nothing has come easy to me. I have sacrificed much to be who I am and be where I am today. However, I have always known that anything worth doing will not be easy and so I have persisted in pushing forward past the opposition and challenges.
County Commissioners hold financial power over their districts. They over see money that can be used to assist local government within the districts.
Yes, unlike my opponent that was originally appointed to the position of commissioner and as a result we have suffered from his lack of experience and ability to learn, I have more than 7 years of political experience working with local government. From day one, I will do a better job than he has done in 5 years.
A business education such as the MBA I hold, Prior Political history, unlike my opponent who was originally appointed and NOT qualified for the position, Ethical and strong leadership skills, honesty, and integrity.
County Commissioners oversee hundreds of millions of dollars in funding that is used for law enforcement, the courts, roads and bridge improvements, and public health. District 3 has been disenfranchised by my opponent because he was not qualified to hold the position from the get go. Millions of dollars have been lost and poorly managed over the last 4 years. We need to say no to another term and hold him accountable for the incompetent administration of county funds.
How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh?
The Yakima County Farm Bureau. Yakima County Republicans 5/2024- 9/2024.
Government should be 100% transparent and accountable.
