As a child of immigrants, I saw firsthand both the struggles people face as well as how we can overcome them. As a longtime resident of the Central Coast, it is important to me to work with others to create a community where all are treated with respect, dignity and can exercise their full potential.

I have dedicated my adult life to addressing issues of sexual assault and domestic violence and advocating for civil rights for working-class families and under-represented communities. For the past 23 years, I have served as the Executive Director of Standing Together to End Sexual Assault, formerly known as Santa Barbara Rape Crisis Center. But I know I can do more for our community. I want to use that same energy and the experience I've gained to work on a broader level. I want to directly affect public policy, especially from a strong feminist perspective. We must preserve our democracy and work fiercely to ensure that we are addressing issues that affect our daily lives. I will work with residents of the 37th District and other legislators to develop and implement solutions to our most pressing social, economic and environmental issues.

In California, we have the opportunity to continue to create a future that reflects our values of caring for each other and caring for our natural resources. If elected to represent the residents of the 37th Assembly District, I would be honored to fight for all of our communities like I have my entire life.
  • Expand access to affordable housing and health care
  • Strengthen education from pre-K through college
  • Protect our coastline and stand up to the oil and gas industry
Education, the environment, and social justice.
I have the ability to work with people from all walks of life. I do not lead in a vacuum, rather, I rely on input from all members of my team. As an Assemblymember, I will never forget that I am an advocate on behalf of my constituents and will seek their input in regards to legislation and important votes.
