Elvi Gray-Jackson (Democratic Party) is a member of the Alaska State Senate, representing District G. She assumed office on January 17, 2023. Her current term ends on January 19, 2027.
Gray-Jackson (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Alaska State Senate to represent District G. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Gray-Jackson also ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Alaska. She did not appear on the ballot for the primary on August 16, 2022.
Gray-Jackson is a former member of the Anchorage Municipal Assembly in Alaska, representing District 4 from 2008 to 2017.[1]
Gray-Jackson served as the vice chair of the assembly from 2014 to 2017.[2]
Biography
As of 2023, Elvi Gray-Jackson lived in Anchorage, Alaska. She earned a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1974 and a B.S. from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, in 1988. Her career experience includes working for the public transit department of the Municipality of Anchorage; for the Anchorage Assembly as an administrative assistant, senior budget analyst, and director of the budget and legislative services office; and or Municipal Light and Power as director of the Alaska Energy Railbelt Authority.[3]
Gray-Jackson served on the Anchorage Assembly, representing Midtown-District 4, from 2008 to 2017. During that time, she was vice-chair from December 2015 to April 2016, and chair from April 2016 to April 2017. She volunteered on the Boys and Girls Club of Alaska board of directors, on the Woodside East Homeowners Association, and on the National League of Cities. [3]
