I've worked across several industries from food and retail to office and publishing and bring all the skills I've learned from these industries - award-winning customer service, creative problem-solving, adaptability, and juggling multiple tasks. I've been in the work force in some capacity since I was 13, and bring an understanding unlike many who find themselves in this position by having had to navigate the department from the perspective of a worker.
Personnel - the Department of Labor has had personnel issues for some time, the first thing to do is to work with each internal department to learn where they need the most help and with what to insure we find the people they need.

Technology and streamlining processes - many of the issues with the department are because of processes that aren't streamlined. Getting rid of unnecessary steps and red tape will help tremendously in freeing up personnel, and smoothing out already known hiccups. This in turn will free up money in the budget to hire new and retain current personnel, along with making sure the technology used in the department stays up to date - including the website.
