Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) appointed Gullickson as Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction on March 27, 2025 to replace former Superintendent Lisa Coons.[1]
Biography
Prior to her appointment as Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction, Gullickson worked as Virginia Deputy Secretary of Education from July 2023 to March 2025.[2]
Education
Gullickson earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from St. Lawrence University, a Master of Education from Arizona State University, and a J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. [3]
