Emily Armonia Shrock
Emily Shrock was a 2015 Democratic candidate for District 16 of the Indianapolis, Indiana City Council. Emily Armonia Shrock lost the general election on November 3, 2015.
Biography
Shrock received a bachelor's degree in business from Butler University and a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. She is a deputy prosecuting attorney at the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office Child Support Division. Other professional experience includes being a law clerk at the Howard County Superior Court and the Indiana Court of Appeals, working for the American Federation of Teachers and as a financial analyst for the Public Employee Retirement Fund.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[2] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[3]
In the Republican primary election for District 16, Jeff Miller ran unopposed. In the Democratic primary, Emily Armonia Shrock also ran unopposed. Miller defeated Shrock in the general election. Incumbent Zach Adamson (D) ran for election to the District 17 seat.[4]
