I grew up in Louisville and attended Manual high school, then U of L for an undergraduate degree, graduating with highest honors. I then attended U of L law school, graduating with honors. After law school, I worked at the largest domestic relations law firm in the country. In 2017, I opened my own law firm and I have practiced only family law since that time. I am married and have two wonderful children. I am passionate about family law and want to work for the Jefferson County community to improve the family court system. I will be fair, focused, and put Jefferson county families first.
  • I will be fair. I will treat all litigants the same, regardless of sex, age, race, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. It is extremely important to me that all litigants feel that their positions are heard in an unbiased manner.
  • I will be focused. Delays in family court oftentimes mean children and parents are left in untenable situations for significant lengths of time. A parent who is concerned their ex-spouse is exposing their child to endangerment should not have to wait months for a hearing date and then months thereafter for a written order. It will be my priority to move cases quickly along and be available for litigants to have their issues timely addressed.
  • I will put Jefferson county families first. Family law is unlike most other areas of the law. Most other litigation involves people with minimal connection to the other (e.g. a car accident) or where there will be no further contact. Family law cases are oftentimes a mom versus a dad, and usually those litigants come to court in a state of high conflict and dysfunction. I view one major role of a family court judge is to ensure that at the conclusion of the case, the families before me will be in a more functional and improved state for themselves and their children.
I am passionate about the dependency, neglect, and abuse of children docket. Since it is a confidential docket, usually what happens on those docket is not reported on the news and is generally a docket most people have little knowledge about the process and current areas that could be improved. That docket is the most important in my opinion because family judges decide whether to remove children from harmful environments, including up to termination of parental rights. It is a significant responsibility to both protect the children in our community from neglect or abuse and also enduring parent’s rights are adequately protected and resources are provided to help improve a family’s functionality to best serve the child’s best interests.
The person I most look up to is my mother. She has instilled in me a strong work ethic, how to be an empathetic person, and the value of being a public servant.

She was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer when I was very young, and she fought and was able to reach remission. She was in the small minority of women who went to engineering school and obtained three degrees in engineering. She became passionate about education and decided to become a teacher, and she taught for several decades. She cares deeply about the well-being of the children in our community and as a teacher was a dedicated public servant, oftentimes staying late to help a student, buying a student a meal if hungry, and generally making sure she set up each student for success. She recently retired and now gets to enjoy her well-deserved retirement with her grandchildren.
I am a very hard worker. I am not afraid to put in long hours to make sure that the courtroom is efficient and quickly accessible.

I am observant and detail-oriented. I will listen carefully to every litigant who appears in front of me to make a reasoned decision.

I am caring. I care very much about making sure that the people who will appear in front of me will leave in a better place than when they originally start through the family court process.
The day I turned 16 I applied at the closest place to my home, the Walgreens off New Cut Road. I worked there for two years, and to this day I still am friends with some of the co-workers and customers I met during that time.
My four year old’s favorite joke: what do you call a sleepy dinosaur? A dino-snore
