Emily Pines is a former justice of the Suffolk County Supreme Court in the 10th Judicial District of New York. She was elected to this position in 2002 and left the court in 2016.[1][2] She was defeated in her bid for re-election in 2015.[3][4]

Education

Pines received her B.A. and J.D. from Hofstra University in 1972 and 1976, respectively.[1]

Career

Pines began her career in 1988 as a deputy Suffolk County attorney. She worked in this capacity until 1991. From 1993 to 1999, she was a Brookhaven town attorney. She was then appointed a district court judge in 1999. In 2002, she was elected to the supreme court.[1]
