|- We need an economy and a healthcare system that works for the masses, not just the few.
- We also need a community that includes and recognizes the value of every individual, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, immigration status or disability.
- I will make sure to fight every day for the underrepresented and to be there for my constituents to continue to listen to and understand their needs.
I believe all Americans have a right to a basic standard of living and that we have a moral obligation to ensure access to, at a minimum, housing and healthcare. Further, I believe the current economic system does not allow for most to access opportunities to benefit from the country's economic growth through hard work. Comprehensive reforms are required to our tax, social welfare, healthcare, criminal justice and education system in order to create a more even playing field. Protections against discrimination and encouragement of diversity go hand in hand with these reforms to increase access to economic opportunity.
