Emma Turner is an at-large representative on the La Mesa-Spring Valley Board of Education in California. She was first elected to the board on November 2, 2008.[1] Turner won re-election in the general election on November 8, 2016.[2] Though Turner identifies as a Republican, her position on the board is nonpartisan.

Turner was a Republican candidate for District 78 of the California State Assembly. She was defeated in the primary election on June 8, 2010.

Two of the five seats on the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District Board of Education were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. In her bid for re-election, incumbent Emma Turner ran against former school board member Jerry Lecko and challengers Jim Long and Jay Steiger.[3] Turner won re-election, and Long won the other seat on the ballot.[4]

Turner filed an exemption form detailing she would not spend or receive more than $2,000 for this campaign. Because of this, she did not have to file additional campaign finance reports.[5][6]

Endorsements

Turner was endorsed by the Republican Party of San Diego County and the DeMaio Report on NewsRadio 600.[7][8]
