|At 26, I became Baldwin Park's second youngest mayor, with my first election in November 2020 marking a transformative era for our city. My re-election in November 2022 reaffirmed the community’s trust in my leadership.
My vision for Baldwin Park focuses on equity, opportunity, and inclusivity. I prioritize eliminating socioeconomic barriers for working-class families, promoting access to quality services, and fostering stability for all residents. Under my leadership, we’ve made significant progress, expanding affordable housing, improving community health, and investing in education and job training programs.
My educational journey reflects my commitment to lifelong learning. After graduating from Sierra Vista High School, I studied automotive services at Baldwin Park Adult and Community Education. I earned an associate's degree in marketing and a bachelor's in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University, and I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health.
Outside of public service and academia, I cherish time with my son and share my love for music.- ffordable housing is essential for building strong, thriving communities. It provides stability for families, reduces poverty, and promotes overall health and well-being. Recognizing this need, I created an affordable homeownership program that empowers families to achieve the dream of owning a home. By allocating $5 million to this initiative, we are breaking down barriers and creating pathways to homeownership. This investment not only supports working-class families but also strengthens our local economy and fosters community pride. Prioritizing affordable housing is a crucial step toward a more equitable and prosperous future for everyone.
- Diverse community resources are vital for fostering resilience and growth. As a parent, I understand the importance of providing our youth with mentorship programs and workforce development opportunities. These initiatives equip young people with the skills and support they need to thrive. I’ve also worked to enhance transit and dial-a-ride services for our seniors, ensuring they have access to essential services and social connections. Additionally, I’ve allocated funding to support local little leagues and organized food drives to combat hunger in our community. By investing in a variety of resources, we can create a stronger, more inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
- Combating homelessness is a crucial priority that I have never shied away from as mayor. I have always advocated for our community's most vulnerable members. To address this issue, I opened Esperanza Villa, a 25-unit tiny home community for adults, and Serenity Homes, a 16-unit shelter for families. Both projects offer wraparound services and case management, ensuring residents receive the support they need to thrive. I have continuously secured funding to keep these shelters operational, and they set a standard for our region by providing local preference to Baldwin Park residents. As a result of these efforts, we’ve achieved a remarkable 70% reduction in homelessness over the last four years.
Affordable housing provides stability, which is essential for physical and mental health. My homeownership program empowers families to achieve security and improve their overall well-being. I also focus on diverse community resources, creating mentorship and workforce development opportunities for youth, and enhancing transit services for seniors to ensure they access healthcare and social activities.
Moreover, local government determines how funds are allocated, including those that come from the county, state, and federal levels. This local control allows for tailored solutions that reflect the specific needs of the community. By addressing local issues directly, elected officials can foster a responsive and effective government that prioritizes the well-being of its residents.
Moreover, it’s crucial for officials to be approachable and willing to explain their positions clearly. Engaging in meaningful dialogue with constituents fosters understanding and collaboration. By actively listening to the community’s needs and concerns, elected officials can make informed decisions that truly reflect the interests of the people they serve. Ultimately, these qualities ensure that leaders are accountable and responsive, paving the way for effective governance and a stronger community.
Empathy allows me to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ensuring their voices are heard and understood. This connection fosters trust and collaboration. My passion for public service motivates me to work tirelessly for positive change, whether it’s improving public health, enhancing community resources, or addressing housing disparities.
Additionally, it’s vital to listen to and support all stakeholders, from residents to business owners, ensuring their voices are heard in the decision-making process. This inclusive approach fosters community trust and collaboration.
Through initiatives like affordable housing programs, mentorship opportunities for youth, and robust support for those experiencing homelessness, I aim to create a more equitable and resilient community. I want my legacy to reflect a government that prioritizes public health, financial transparency, and accountability, fostering trust between officials and residents.

Government funding can often be complex, with various sources and accompanying stipulations. Making this information accessible and understandable helps demystify the budget and promotes informed community engagement. Ultimately, transparency not only strengthens trust but also fosters a sense of ownership and collaboration between the government and the community it serves.
