Environment, Energy, and Technology Committee, Washington State Senate
The Environment, Energy & Technology Committee is a standing committee of the Washington State Senate.
Per Section V of the Senate Rules, committees of the Washington State Senate are appointed by the President of the Senate and confirmed by the senate.[1] Committees are responsible for considering measures referred to them in the interest of the state.[2] The deliberations of committees considering a vote on any bill, resolution, or memorial must be open to the public.[3]

Function
The Environment, Energy & Technology Committee considers topics including, but not limited to:
“ | environmental issues including water quality, Puget Sound, the State Environmental Policy Act, the Shoreline Management Act, oil spill prevention, recycling and solid waste, toxic substances, and hazardous and toxic waste. The committee also deals with the regulation of telecommunications, as well as issues relating to the availability, productions and conservation of energy, climate change, nuclear waste, and technology.[4][5] | ” |
