Function

In 2014, the Kentucky State Legislature described the function of this committee as outlined below.

The Energy Committee studies "matters pertaining to investor-owned public utilities, rates, permits, certificates of convenience and necessity; water district rates; public utility cooperatives; electric, oil, and gas transmission companies; telephone companies and cooperatives; Internet access; municipal utilities and water works; energy and fuel development, including alternative fuels and renewable energy; energy waste disposal; the Public Service Commission; and hydroelectric and nuclear energy."[1][2]
