Eric Blubaugh is a judge of the 91st District Court in Michigan. He was appointed by Gov. Rick Snyder (R) on May 8, 2017, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Elizabeth Biolette Church. He had to run for election in 2018 to keep the seat past the end of his appointment.[1]
Biography
Blubaugh earned a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University, a J.D. from Western Michigan University's Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and a master's of law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.[2]
At the time of his appointment to the bench in 2017, he was the magistrate for the 91st District Court, a juvenile referee/officer for the Chippewa County Family Court, and an adjunct professor for Lake Superior State University. His professional experience also includes work as an assistant prosecutor for Chippewa County and the chief prosecutor for the Bay Mills Indian Community and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.[2]
