Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

My wife, Rebecca, and I are the proud parents of two energetic young boys, Thomas and Peter. I earned my undergraduate degree at the United States Naval Academy and my master's degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

For nearly a decade, I’ve dedicated myself to the United States Navy as a Submarine Officer, where I’ve honed my leadership skills under the most challenging conditions. Now, as a Project Manager for a nuclear engineering design firm, I continue to push the boundaries of innovation, leading the development of cutting-edge technical solutions for nuclear utilities.

My dedication to service doesn’t stop at my professional commitments. I am deeply embedded in the fabric of the Brookfield community, where I serve as the Committee Chair for Swanson Elementary’s Cub Scout Pack 23, volunteer in various youth sports leagues, and actively contribute to my church’s music ministry and committees. Through these roles, I aim to foster a sense of unity, collaboration, and resilience in our community.

I believe in leading by example, demonstrating integrity, excellence, and compassion in every facet of my life. It is these values that I wish to bring as Alderman for District 7, ensuring that our community not only thrives but also upholds the principles that bind us together.

I am deeply passionate about nurturing vibrant and sustainable development in Brookfield, balancing economic growth with environmental care. I champion locally-owned businesses and the preservation of green spaces, advocating for responsible planning and strategic infrastructure investments. Committed to enhancing housing diversity and supporting local businesses, I also prioritize enriching recreational and educational opportunities. Integral to my approach is fiscal responsibility, ensuring Brookfield's development initiatives are both economically sound and beneficial across all life stages. My vision aims for a harmonious community where fiscal health, development, and nature coexist seamlessly.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

The qualities of a good elected official include leadership, integrity, resilience, innovation, and excellence, learned through diverse life experiences. They must also embody unity, collaboration, and compassion, cultivated through active community engagement. These officials should lead by example, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to the community's well-being and upholding the values that foster a strong, cohesive society.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

The core responsibilities for someone elected to this office revolve around representing and advocating for the community's needs and interests. It entails making informed decisions on local policies, managing public resources responsibly, and ensuring transparency and accountability in government actions. Elected officials must also foster community engagement, listen to constituents' concerns, and work collaboratively with other officials and stakeholders to drive positive change and address challenges facing the community.

What legacy would you like to leave?

I aspire to leave a legacy of impactful, positive change in our community, marked by a stronger, more cohesive society. I want to be remembered for fostering sustainable development, enhancing the quality of life for all residents, and ensuring our community's fiscal health and environmental preservation. My legacy would reflect a commitment to service, integrity, and innovation, making Brookfield a model of good governance and a place where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

What kind of skills or expertise do you believe would be the most helpful for the holders of this office to possess?

The most valuable skills and expertise for this office include strategic decision-making, effective communication, and an understanding of public policy and finance. Strategic decision-making allows for navigating complex issues with foresight and precision. Effective communication is crucial for engaging with constituents transparently and fostering collaboration. A solid grasp of public policy and finance ensures that resources are managed wisely and policies are developed that genuinely benefit the community.
