Irvine's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]
- Excerpt: "I want to bring Common Sense back into the legislature. The other Common Sense leaders on the hill are too outnumbered to force the changes that need making. Today we in Utah face an education system that is running underfunded putting heavy burdens on our educators to get the job done. Our work force has to argue about fair compensation for the sweat of their labors. We feel we must accept a system of fear in order to be secure in our homes and movements. The natural resources of Utah and the very air we breathe are under constant and irresponsible attack. This is Utah and it’s time for a change to what we really believe in. As a retired Salt Lake City Police Detective I have the understanding, tools and the tenaciousness to get this job done! It’s time to bring Common Sense back into our State government. I am seeking your support for my run as Utah House Representative in District 10 (South-East Ogden Area)."
